Almost Got Snatched!

At around 11 pm last nite, there was a blackout. The whole area went pitch dark instantly as I sat in front of my PC cursing, coz I was about to level up my Rogue in WOW (evolving into a nerd again). Went next door since I didn't know if I had any candles at my place. Shortly after, I borrowed my sister's flashlight and decided to go for a walk downstairs, just around my flat. I figured it was a good idea, since I had nothing to do and my room was rather warm (screw you El Nino!). I might as well get some exercise and fresh air. STUPID decision on my part...

Walking along the main road, I started texting my lo gong zai. Then, it happened. I was busy texting and didn't notice that a motorist approaching fast in front of me. As he whizzed past, he tried to grab my phone, but since it was really dark, that asshole probably missed and slapped it off my hand instead. In the process, he almost slapped me too, hitting me instead on the neck. I was startled, as my phone flew out of my hand and landed on the road. I looked back and cursed the damn bastard. I wasn't scared at the time, but I REALLY had half a mind to chase him down and punch his freakin' face in. But, I had to quickly pick up my phone from the middle of the road before any car ran over it and he was speeding away. Even in the dark, I could quickly make out that it was some skinny dude and for some reason, I was sure that it was an Indian guy. Don't ask me why, I just know it. Luckily for me, my phone is still intact and working fine, although one of the corners is badly scratched.

I eff-ing hate snatch thieves. The stories you read about in the papers and not to mention from those who've experienced it first hand are enough to send anyone fuming. Even mum got her necklace snatched before by an Indian guy on a motorcycle, just in the car park behind my flat! It happened only last year and she only sustained minor gashes on her neck, thank God! People get seriously injured and even die in snatch thief incidences.

I don't eff-ing care how poor or pathetic your life is, but this ain't the way to make it better. Go seek some welfare, you eff-ing losers. Or deserve to have you eff-ing face kicked in when you get caught until you choke on your own blood and DIE!

oh damn, im sorry about that man. In the christmas of 2008 my friend was walkin near university view at about 1pm and i called her coz she was suppose to meet me but was late..so she doesnt pick up my call which gets me concerned..so i drove out to check on her. I was at the main road and i hear this motorbike racing out of the neighborhood and there were two guys on it..and they were yelling WOOOOHOOOOO!! Later my friend told me she was walkin in the neighborhood and when i called she reached for her phone and thats when they snatched her purse and in the pull they broke her purse's strap off and gave her a nasty bruise on the arm..luckily she had her phone in her hand..but she lost rm400 and also, that bag was a christmas present for her from her mom from years ago..her mother died when she was 16. She told me she started screaming for help and running after them..and there were men standing at their front gates of several houses but none of them tried to help her..if they did, they could have caught the bastards because there were speedbreakers on that road which slowed them down. But my friend could not run fast enough. We went around just to see if they would have atleast dumped the bag in a drain coz it had a lot of sentimental value..including pictures of her loved ones in her wallet. So yeah, since then, one of these days i wana walk around with a big purse and put bricks in with notes glued on it quoting HAHA! SUCKAZ!!!

My mum got snatched twice. The second time was the worst. They used the ekzos pipe to injure my mum cos she didnt want to let go of the handbag. All the company money she was carrying gone. Haiz...

OMG!!! So dangerous! Luckily you're not hurt. Like you, I totally hate those snatch-thieves. Why do they have to hurt people and I feel so sad reading news on those victims who fell into coma or died because of the consequences. Do they know they are not only robbing the money, they are also robbing away people's life? Real bastards!

Can't they find a decent job? Even as a helper at mamak stall is good enough, better than being a thief.

I am sorry for what you have gone thru...no one deserves to go thru such a horrible incident. It is very sickening indeed to know that we've lost the freedom to bravely walk around as we always have to keep a look out for this sick B******.

Anyway, i just feel the need to tell you that there is no need to mention the race. You find offenders in all races. To mention the race twice just goes to show that racism still exist in this so called 1 Malaysia..even among the educated ones.... Sad!!

@#$%^ to the snatch thief. He dared to snatch from a young and strong man like you. He must be high on something.

Hate them as well! Not sure why the cops are bothering about gay saunas and sex shops when such crimes are still rampant!

C'est la vie said...

wah... the markie I know won't swear like this..... -_-

BUT, I have to agree with you. I HATE them to the fullest. They've killed many people, especially women.

Plainjoe: Hehe, I had to just let it all out.

Gypsy: Wow, your friend is lucky that she's alright, although she lost some of her most precious possessions.

Bear: Adoi, that sounds really bad.

Pikey: Thanks ya.

Calvin: EXACTLY!

William: Yeah, luckily I'm still able to come down to KL to meet you guys =)

Anonymous: I assure you that this post has nothing to do with racism. I just wanted to point it out as it was really an Indian fella. Maybe the 2nd time wasn't as clear since I only saw a glance. Sorry if I sounded racist, didn't mean to be.

Dove: Indeed, but ANYONE can be a victim these days. Months ago, a friend of mine from Penang also feel victim. He was talking on the phone somewhere in KL and suddenly, it got snatched from behind. He wasn't so lucky...

Savante: Yepz, true dat!

Cest: Yalor, seriously I hate those low lives.

I smell some racial profiling there. I agree with anonymous about the mention of race there. Perhaps, you should ingrained in yourself more strongly about the need to see crime across the board, from socioeconomic reason and not just limited to certain races, as it is not epidemic to a particular group of people alone. Nonetheless, thank God you're alright.

About the raid at gay massage parlours and saunas as highlighted by savante, such raids are part of the police job. Perhaps, it is improper to imply that we wait for the police to sniff some white collar crime and weed out criminals at the top level before moving to the grassroot level. Like solving one thing at a time, for instance, weeding out rape cases, don't expect the police to solve ALL rape cases before raiding the gay saunas next. It is just utter ridiculous.

Anyway, it is good riddance for the gay saunas and massage parlours. We have too much perverts and maniacs out there who look at sex as recreational matter. And it is almost like prostitution, selling oneself at meagre cost (the so-called entry fee is actually a fee paid for sexual solicitation).

By the way Mark, not a single 'hi' from you since you're in KL. Is it reserved for some hot-blooded, young cikus and not for a seasoned, undesirable and some times critical old fella like me...? :P

Lol 1Malaysia...as if it really exists with the government doing all sorts of nonsense to create more racism.

Anyway, deep in everyone's heart, more or less there'll be some racism. Besides, it's Marky's blog and he can write whatever he wanted right? He's just trying to express his anger... If a Chinese rob a Chinese and the victim says "Im sure it's a Chinese!", then is it racism? Racism against own race?? How ridiculous could that be?

Anyway, Isaac, would you prefer a place full of perverts who have a place to fulfill their pleasure or a place where there's lotsa lotsa rapers just because they don't have a place to fulfill their pleasure? I wouldn't prefer the latter one. Look at Singapore, they legalizes prostitution and i dont see much raper problems arises. There's pros and cons to prostitution and besides, sometimes, under terrible circumstances, one were forced to be a prostitute.

Just like what gay people always tell those straights "You dont know us. Try to live in our shoe before you say that". Now, you're just stereotyping prostitutes dont you think so? SOME "protituers" DO NOT want to be like that if they have a choice...Anyway, im not flaming or defending Marky. Im just defending some of the prostitutes.

Cronos.R.C said...

okay maybe i did defend him...a little XD

Cronos R.C.: It's good to know that you acknowledged that the Government is doing all sort of nonsense that might breed more racism but I think, with that knowledge in mind, you could have espouse the idea of anti-racism instead of playing to the Government's tune. Perhaps, we all aware that the Government is breeding more racism but what have we, the ones who acknowledged the fact, have done to address the matter...? That's my question to Cronos R.C.

On the prostitution, I have to acknowledged that I am a minority in this matter as I am against the establishment of sauna and massage centres that offering sexual services to gays. In one of my meetings with a gay activist just recently, I have made it clear that I abhor this culture. However, if this is the culture, acceptable for the majority of gay men, so be it. I stand my ground.

Yes, indeed this is Mark's blog but since this is open to public and not some select few, this blog is subject to scrutiny from just all levels. Talking about rights, it is indeed his right to write anything he wanted here but since this is a public domain, it is well within my right to comment based on the fundamental that I think is right. This is freedom of expression anyway. Again, I stand my ground on a responsible freedom of expression, not an arbitrary expression.

Cronos.R.C said...

First of all, i do not have the powerful vocab or those nice nice english to express myself and i'd say that my english isnt all superb at all. I do not understand certain words of yours and then again, since you said this is a public domain, maybe you can dumb down your language for the sake of others (me)? I seriously do not understand certain expressions of yours but nevertheless, i'll reply what's said and only once. I do not want to flame here.

Uh huh...Well, even though i must say im abit racist but im only racist towards a certain group of people. I dare to say, i've malay friends and i've asked them this question and they'd totally agree with me. "Don't you think you guys like have 'high class' malays and 'low class' malays?" In other words, it's sensible and insensible malays. There're also chinese and other races with such thing. So, i must say, im racist towards those insensible people. Besides, you dare to say you're totally fair and not racist towards anything at all? Not even abit?

Okay, let's say you're not racist but by showing that you're against those whatever sauna or massauer thingie it means you anti something right? It'll also another chain reaction isnt it? Just because the government doesnt 'promote' that kind of anti-massauer thingie doesnt mean you should anti them too right?

About what i did:
1. I try to find out the root problem of racism and part of the problem seems to stem from religion.
2. I tell my family who's racism towards malays that malays arent all bad and they've successfully accepted the fact that NOT all malays are bad and make them realize that there're stupid malays too.
3. I studies different religions abit here and there to know better.
4. I asks questions to my friends of other races about the things which im not clear about so that i can justify to others when they've wrong concept about certain race.

Well, you doesnt seem to be a minority in the matter of racism unlike how you are in the case of the sauna thingie...so, maybe you would like to enlighten me what you did :) and also, based on your opinion, why racism happens? Please dont wikipedia or google up the question XD

Last but not least, please if you don't mind, im a minority in english and it's a public domain so, maybe you can use simple english to explain it to me thanks :D

P/S: There's no need to pinpoint things directly to the gay prostitutes or so. What you did are equivalent to racism. The difference is that racism pinpoint races while what you did pinpoints prostitution. I think that a mirror should be bought :D

It's just a sentence, and yet you can come out with such novel, nice one. Get a life.

Chronos:

You not need to say so much to explain yourself. If people don't like you, they just don't like. Stay cool.

Cronos R.C.: It's great to see the zeal in you working out its wonders and engaging in a meaningful discourse. Of course, it is pretty much distasteful to have an anonymous person who attempted to put a natural death to such a wonderful discourse. That's the beauty of Internet, people can just hide behind the cloak of anonymity to cover their identities.

Anyway, there is a need to distinguish racism and anti-something as you have mentioned racism on one part and you likened it to disapproving attitude towards certain matter, such as the establishment of saunas and massage centres.

Racism is defined as hostile attitude or behaviour to members of other races based on a belief in the innate superiority of one's own race. In Mark's case, he had made this reference to a particular race:

"...I was sure that it was an Indian guy. Don't ask me why, I just know it..."

And he repeated the assertion in another paragraph:

"...Even mum got her necklace snatched before by an Indian guy on a motorcycle, just in the car park behind my flat..."

Therefore, for amateur readers of his blog and for the general masses who have certain perceptions against certain group of people, these assertions will definitely reinforce the perception that it is true after all. Of course, the 1Malaysia concept is already a joke but at communal level, it is distressful that this is happening despite us being highly trained professionals. I guess, we're humans after all.

Mark: However, it is a despicable act perpetrated against you. I hope you will be extra vigilant in the future and not to take security matter light as one of our friends (you know who) had fallen victim to snatch theft in KL before. And also, I had become a victim myself too when my house was broken into last August and I lost some valuables that cost me emotional and material losses. This goes to everyone too, as the economically disadvantaged people might resort crime to make their ends meet.

Yeah, I get what you mean Isaac. As I said in the beginning of the post, it was a foolish thing that I did.

How deep do you understand what i said, it's up to you. Im not any better but at least i try to refrain from "pot calling the kettle black".

Have a nice day~~~ :D Anyway, seriously, you do not understand what's public domain yet you try to comment something bout public domain =.=" Public domain = simple understandable english with little or no jargons or bombastic words... *cough* tsk tsk tsk...
